Steven Morris Hopkins, 68 of West Valley (Delta), beloved father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on July 16, 2015.

Steve was born April 12, 1947 in Delta.

He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, honorably serving in Vietnam.

Steve loved being a diesel mechanic, he worked for Union Pacific Railroad for over twenty-six years and continued on to United Rentals.

Preceded in death by his father, Morris Lott Hopkins; mother, Elizabeth Autero Hopkins; and step-mother, Maud Keele Hopkins. Survived by his children, Morris (Susan) Hopkins, Teresa (Jeff) Sanderson, William Hopkins, Stevie (Lisa) Hopkins, and Amanda (Jason) Hayes; siblings, Thomas (Pamela) Hopkins, Richard (Lynda) Hopkins, Cecelia (Larry) Van Tassell, and Karl (Shanna) Hopkins; step-brother and sisters, Iris Hamlin, Lee Hamlin, and Elveria Arguello; and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Canyon Creek Assisted Living and Brighton Home and Hospice for the countless hours of devoted care and support to Steve and family.

Funeral services will be held at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street (100 East), Midvale. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. prior to funeral services at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will follow at Camp Williams Cemetery, 17111 South 1700 West, Bluffdale.
