Johnny C. Horton, age 69, passed away on July 15, 2015 at UT Medical Center in Knoxville. He will be remembered for his spirited demeanor, generosity, and his time spent mentoring the youth at Badgett Field, sharing his knowledge with anyone with a desire to learn.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 48 years, Betty Horton; daughter, Tawana Kinsella; son, Shawn Horton and wife Renee; grandchildren, Kirsten Shumaker, Kinlee Kinsella, Ethan Horton, and Emme Horton; sister, Jowana Herron; nephew, Alvin Herron; and many great friends.
There will be a celebration of life service at Trinity Methodist Church on Sunday, July 26, at 4 p.m. An interment with military honors will be held at the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Methodist Church, 5613 Western Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37921. Gentry Griffey Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the family
