Services will be held at 10:30AM Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the Catholic Church of the Visitation, Camanche. Visitation will be held from 9:30 until the service hour Tuesday at the Church. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Clinton. Pallbearers will be Rich and John Feltes, Dave and Josh Ostert, John Vachris and Steve Schmidt.
Janet was born July 30, 1938 in Maquoketa, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Marie C. (Stamp) Feltes; she was a 1956 Maquoketa High School graduate. Janet married Arlyn Schmidt in Maquoketa on April 15, 1958; he died February 24, 2008.
She had been employed as a department clerk at International Paper for more than 32 years, retiring in 1995.
She was a member of the Catholic Church of the Visitation and the Altar and Rosary Society.
Survivors include her sister, Joan Ostert of Maquoketa; brothers Gerald Feltes of Maquoketa and C. John Feltes of Oxford Junction, IA; brother-in-law, Darrell (Pat) Schmidt of Fulton, IL; special niece, Joyce Ostert of Maquoketa, IA and special friends, Don and Bev Skoff of Camanche, IA.
In addition to her husband, Janet was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Dolores Waterman and brothers-in-law, Eugene Waterman and Dwayne Ostert and sisters-in-law, Helen and Rosemary Feltes.
Memorials may be made to the family for a favorite charity.
