Rosalie "Ro" Centanni Miller, 76, passed away Friday evening, July 3 at her home after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease. She passed peacefully from this world to the next, just as she wanted, at home with her loved ones by her side.

She was a native of New Orleans and resident of Metairie for the last 54 years.

She is survived by her sister Maria Grace Centanni Benigno (husband Tony) and brother Jerome Anthony Centanni (wife Diane); her five children, Gwendolyn Ann Miller Bernstrom, Glen David Miller, Kenneth Paul Miller, Kyle Michael Miller, Kimberly Elizabeth Miller Oliva and son-in-law Juan Angelo Oliva, Jr; seven grandchildren, Dale Brian Lee Miller Clemens, Brittany Danielle Bernstrom, Brandon Alexander Bernstrom, Anthony Michael Miller, Kaden Joshua Miller, Randi Amelia Morales Sambrana, and Brittany Lynn Oliva Chatelain; her godmother Rosalie Centanni Gonczi; her godchild Gail Ann Ortego Strohmeyer; niece Donna Maria Florence Centanni; nephew Jerome Anthony Centanni, Jr.; and her close friend of 25 years, Mary Jane Clemens. She is also survived by many loving and caring cousins who often took time out of their lives to visit with Rosalie. She will be sorely missed by her children, grandchildren, friends and large extended family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Mary Ricotta Centanni and Jerome Raphael Centanni; granddaughter Chelsea Ariel Bernstrom and son-in-law Gary Grant Bernstrom; and her ex-husband Robert Dale Miller.

Rosalie devoted her early married life to raising her children and being active in various community, school and social organizations. In the early 1970s she attended real estate school and started her long and distinguished career in that profession while expecting her fifth child. It was during this time that she adopted the nickname "Ro" and she soon became a top producer in real estate sales. She retired from Re/Max Real Estate Partners only after her health started to decline.

Per Ro's wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial services.

It was Ro's desire that her family, friends and other loved ones remember her as the young, energetic and vivacious woman that lived within her heart until the very end.
