Don E. Kinney age 87 of Okolona was born May 28, 1928 to the late Alex Prater and Bessie Kinney in Pike County, KY and returned to his Heavenly father July 17, 2015. Mr. Kinney was a retired employee for American Air Filter, Famco Division.
Among those who preceded him in death include an infant daughter, Patty Kinney; son, Donald Mack Kinney who died in the Viet Nam War; infant son, Terry Edward Kinney and his parents.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 69 years, Avonell Blankenship Kinney; daughters, Sandra Kay Wyatt (Mike) and Michelle M. Jafarpour (Reza); sons, Gary D. Kinney (Darlene), Michael Kinney (Jamie) and Mitchell Kinney; sisters, Shelby Scott and Wilma Jarvis; 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, a host of other family and friends.
Funeral service will be held 12 P.M. Tuesday at Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks (Preston Highway at Brooks Road and use John Harper entrance) with interment in Resthaven Memorial Park.
