Pauline was born in Scottsboro, Alabama March 25, 1931. She passed away on March 6, 2015 in Huntsville. Pauline had lived in Huntsville the last 40 years of her life.

She was the oldest of six children born to Elbert and Lillie Mae Precise. After finishing high school, she took a job in Scottsboro to help the family with finances and to begin saving some money for college. She put her dream for school on hold, but she never lost that dream of working for God through the church. She commuted to University of Alabama in Huntsville for 2 years, then went on to graduate from Scarritt College in Nashville. Upon graduation she was commissioned a deaconess in the Methodist Church. She was assigned to the Reelfool Ministries in Tennessee. After that she served as director of the community center in Cookson, Oklahoma.

Her last work before retirement was director of the Food Stamp Office for Madison County Alabama - located in Huntsville. After retirement she worked with the Deaconess Program Office in the area of Nurture and Communications. She stayed in touch with Deaconesses through out the church so that needs, joys and prayer request could be sent to all the members.

Pauline was active in her local church - First Methodist in Huntsville. She served as President of Methodist Women and was a member of the choir. She became very involved in environmental issues and assisted in leading workshops for the World Federation of Diaconal Associations and Diaconal communities. Pauline was a friend to children. Pauline was a servant of God and the church all of her life. She always expressed gratitude for working as a Deaconess in the United Methodist Church.
