He was a farmer for many years in Downsville and Williamsport districts, a member of the Christian Church, of Downsville, and the Jr. O.U.A.M. of Tilghmanton. He was born at Downsville, the son of Noah and Mary Taylor Fowler.
He is survived by a widow, Rosie E. Fowler, and the following sons and daughters: John L., Cody, Wyo.; Noah, at home; William E., Two Locks; Samuel H., Jr., Hagerstown; Mrs. G. A. Grim, at home; Mrs. Mary E. Castle, baltimore; Mrs. Jacob Sechrist, Two Locks, and Mrs. Alva Lamp, Williamsport. He also leaves three brothers, John H. Fowler, Hagerstown: George W. Fowler, near Williamsport, and Andrew R. Fowler, Williamsport; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Henson, Hagerstown, and Mrs. Robert Bowers, Bunker Hill, W.Va., seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral Sunday leaving the house at 2 o'clock, services at the Bakersville Church, interment at Bakersville.
