Funeral services for Ida Mae Winchester Avery, age 99, formerly of Bonham, TX will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home in Bonham, TX. Rev. Henry Shelton will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Dodd City Cemetery.
Mrs. Avery passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Victoria Gardens of Allen.
Ida Mae (Sadler) Winchester Avery was born on September 17, 1913 in Fannin County to William and Dora (Mayhew) Sadler.
Ida married Eugene Winchester on March 26, 1936 in Hugo, OK; he preceded her in death on November 10, 1973.
On June 13, 1981 she married Earl Avery in Bonham, TX; he preceded her in death on June 23, 2000.
Ida was a seamstress at Bonham Manufacturing, a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Bonham, and she enjoyed her many friendships at Bonham Snap Center after becoming a volunteer.
Ida is survived by Son-Frank Winchester and wife Judy of Allen, TX; Grandchildren-Lance Winchester and wife Heather of Allen, TX; Heather Smith and husband Andrew of Allen, TX; Jena Hawkins and husband Ronnie of Rockwall, TX; Kirsten Ramsey of Terrell, TX; and 8 great grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by her parents, and Daughter and Son-in-law Eugenia and Jerry Ramsey.
Family visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home starting at 1:00 pm.
