Gordon Yates Mann, 84, of Independence, Missouri, formerly of Jamesport, Missouri, died on July 15, 2015 at the North Kansas City Hospital. He was born on July 5, 1931 to Gordon F. and Margaret (Yates) Mann in Daviess County, Missouri. He attended school at McClung Elementary and Jamesport High School. Gordon enlisted in the National Guard in 1949 and the U.S. Navy in 1951. He was in the U.S. Navy Seabee’s for four years. He worked for Trans World Airline for a year. The next 35 years were spent at Midtown Press in Kansas City. He started as a deliveryman but quickly moved up to bindery. He held a variety of jobs including painting, valet parking, and operating a floor cleaner. He retired at age 78. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Marilyn Willingham. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, two daughters, son, and five grandchildren. Funeral: 11:00 a.m. July 20, 2015 at McWilliams Funeral Home, Gallatin, Missouri.
