He is survived by his sister, Adrienne (Lee); his six children, Mary (Len), Peggy (Jesus), John (Stacey), Jeanne (Manny), Kerry (Rafe), and Jim (Janelyn); his nineteen grandchildren, Amy (Mike), Ashley, Braeden, Macy (Brian), Marina, Alicia, Jonah, Ryan, Patrick, Brenna, Kelley, Haines, Anna, Mateo, Amelia, Nicole, Andrew, Nathaniel, and Emmet; and his two great grandchildren, Liam and Grace.
John was a first-generation American. His father, a U.S. citizen, was raised in Northern Ireland, and his mother was born in Northern Ireland and became a naturalized U.S. citizen. He attended Scarsdale High School in New York and joined the Army Air Force after his graduation in 1944. John was a proud veteran and cared deeply about veteran causes throughout his life.
John graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business with a B.A. in Business. He moved to California to start his career in business, where he met and married Natalie Carr. Although they later divorced, they raised sx children together and remained friends until Natalie's untimely death in 2004.
A memorial service will be held at Farewell Funeral Service in Fresno, California on Sunday, July 5, at 11am followed by a luncheon at the home of his daughter.
