Mother is Anna Wursteisen Wingerter

Dorothy Wingerter Schaper, beloved wife of the late Werner C. Schaper, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2009 under hospice care at the home of her daughter. Born in New Orleans on October 12, 1924 to the late Ann Wursteisen and John Joseph Wingerter. She is also preceded in death by 3 sisters, Miriam, Anna Mae and Emelda Wingerter and 3 brothers, John, Melvin and Arthur Wingerter. She is survived by her loving daughter Barbara and son-in-law, Victor Giancola. Also survived by 4 nieces, 5 great0nieces and 3 great nephews.
Dorothy grew up in the Irish Channel. She spent most of her adult life in Gentilly where she and Werner lived until retirement from F. W. Woolworth. At that time they returned to Werner's home town of Fredericksburg, TX where she lived for 25 years until Werner's death. in 2003 she returned to New Orleans to live close to her daughter.
Services will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 6500 Kawanee Ave., Metairie. Visitation will start at 11:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m.. Burial will be in Fredericksburg, Texas
