Mrs. Nora Sue Ward, age 71, of Honaker, Virginia passed away Thursday (July 16m 2015) in a Bristol, Tennessee hospital. Born April 22, 1944 in Grundy, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Homer and America Stiltner Norman. She had resided in the area most of her life and enjoyed spending her time playing softball, fishing, and cooking. She was of the Holiness faith and attended Calvary Lighthouse Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Ward; four brothers, Noah Stiltner, Herman Norman, Elwood Norman and Julius Norman. In her generation, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Survivors include two daughters, Pam Jones of Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and Tammy Barnhart and husband, Kenny of Honaker, Virginia; one son, Victor E. Ward and wife, Stephanie of Honaker, Virginia; five grandchildren, Joey Vanover, Eric Barnhart, Kandace Patrick, Madison Blankenship and Cody Johnson; seven great-grandchildren, Hunter Vanover, Brooklyn Vanover, Rylee Vanover, Kenleigh Barnhart, Kainyn Barnhart, Eli Patrick and Colton Johnson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Monday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia, with Rev. Mike Ryan officiating. Interment will follow in Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon, Virginia.
Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Sunday.
