Garnett J. "Joe" Godbey, 89, of Charleston died Wednesday, May 22, 1996, in Thomas Memorial Hospital. He retired from the production division of True Temper Corp. He was a member of Swann Memorial Presbyterian Church where he was former organist. Surviving: wife, Gertrude Hanna Godbey; son, Kenneth Godbey of Leroy; daughter, Betty Santrock of Charleston, S.C.; sister, Bess Robertson of South Charleston; brother, Harley Godbey of Glasgow; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
