Sleeping Sickness and complications are Given as Cause.

Encephalitis, sleeping sickness and complications, caused the death of Byron Gregory, 65, former Bloomington-Normal resident and for the last four years living on a farm in Gridley Township, at 1:15 a.m. Friday in St. Mary's hospital at Streator.

Three weeks ago, Mr. Gregory moved to Wenona and had remained there until last Sunday, when he visited friends in Armington. He became ill the same day and was removed to the hospital. The funeral will be held at 2:30 P.M. Saturday at Wenona, and burial will be made there.

Mr. Gregory was born in Gridley Township Dec. 14, 1968, the son of john and Mary Ann Gregory. He spent the greater portion of his life in Bloomington and Normal.
He is survived by his widow, the former Miss Hattie Britt of Armington, and five children, Florence Gregory of Los Angeles; Lowell of Pasadena, Calf. Omar of Bloomington, Mrs. Blackwell Taylor of Cleveland, Ohio, and Mrs. Louis Colehower of Wenona. There are two grandchildren, Annett Colehower and Gregory Taylor. Ira Gregory of Lexington is a brother and Mrs. John Goodwin of Normal, a sister. Nephews and nieces are Salmon Moon, Towanda, Mrs. Nimrod Mace and J. E. Wyckoff of Bloomington, and Lois and Emma Gregory of Normal.

While residing Here Mr. Gregory attended the second Christian charch.
