Mr. Eric C. Holmes, was a native of Washington, D.C. and was a resident of Tampa for 38 years. He attended Hillsborough High School and graduated with the class of 1988. While attending Hillsborough High School he wrestled and played football. Throughout high school Eric participated in Upward Bound and furthered his education at Dillard University.
He was preceded in death by: his grandmother, Louise Reeves; his brother, Heshimur “Omarr” Holmes; his aunt, Lenora McCants and his cousin, Abdullah Stokes.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving and devoted mother, Yvonne Holmes Waldon (Howard); father, Donnell Curtis Holmes; brothers, Donnell Holmes, Jr. and Askia Holmes; sister, Tamia Smith; step-brothers, Dewayne Waldon and Adrian Waldon; Aunts Deborah McCray, Niamah Muhammad and Veronica Crumpton; uncles, Bernard Reeves, Alvin Holmes (Denise) and Michael Hall (Anita); step-aunt-in-law, Gloria Miller (Melvin); nephews, Gabriel “Omarr” Holmes (mother, Carly Sands) and Vito Holmes; niece, Leylah Yvonne Holmes (mother, Shannon Holmes); cousins, Gwen “GG” Green, Aundrea Green, Calvin Green, Bethany Green, William Stokes, Mary Stokes, Harvey Stokes, Grace Stokes, Imani Diop, Omari Diop, Siraj Diop, Jobari, Tacuma Muhammad, Balewa Muhammad, Joshua Muhammad, Sabreen Muhammad, Jor-el Hall, Simone Hall, Lisa McCray, Sean McCray and Charles Wright; step-cousin-in-laws, Charles Lewis, Monica Simpkins, Clifford Darrington and Quentin Darrington; a host of cousins, aunts, great-aunts, great-uncles, other relatives and friends.
