James L. Judd, 48, of Pasadena, Calif., formerly of Springfield, died Wednesday at his residence.

Born on Feb. 18, 1939, in Springfield, Mr. Judd was the son of James L. and Mary Ethel Stroisch Judd. He was a self-employed contracter. His stepmother, Carolyn Judd, died in 1982.

Surviving are two daughters; father, James L. Judd of Springfield; two brothers, Robert L. of Chatham and Ronald L. of Los Angeles, Calif.
