Albert Chris Kruger Jr., age 82, of Carroll and formerly of Glidden went home to be home with his Lord and Saviour on July 15, 2015 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.

Born on February 10, 1933 in Carroll, he was the son of Albert Sr. and Viola (Haase) Kruger. Albert, known to most as Junior, grew up on a farm in the Glidden – Ralston area and graduated from high school in 1950. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Upon returning home from his service in the military, he resumed his first love, farming. Later Albert acquired his private pilot’s license, CFI (Certified Flight Instructor) and a commercial pilot’s license which became his second love. Albert could be found many weekends at the Jefferson airport flying and maintaining his Cessna Cardinal, the first of many planes he would own. A devoted son, Albert retired from farming in 1988 to care fulltime for his mother. Albert Jr. was reunited and married to the true love of his life, high school sweetheart Lita McCullom, on July 3, 1996. Together they would spend the next several years committed to and caring for Viola until her death in 2002 and later Marie until her death in 2005. When not caring for his beloved family members, Junior and Lita enjoyed attending concerts, movies, and going to church together. Their daily ritual was sharing devotions together every morning. A kind, generous, loving, man, Albert Kruger Jr. will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.

Albert is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Lita Corrine Kruger; his stepchildren: Cindy Brock and her husband Brad of Midland, TX, Barb Heithoff and her husband Roger of Yankton, SD, Kelle Sullivan and her husband Frank of of Seguin, TX; step grandchildren: Kendra Hensler, Drew Heithoff, Connor Brock, Zoe Brock, Skylar Sullivan, Steele Sullivan; a step great-granddaughter Evelyn; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Viola and Albert Kruger, Sr. and sisters: Marie and Doris Kruger.
