Sidney C. Green, 69, Caravilla, died Saturday afternoon in Mercy Hospital after an illness of two weeks. Four years ago he retired as a postal clerk in Battle Creek, Mich., where he was employed 40 years. He was a World War I overseas veteran and a member of the VFW and Elks lodge in Battle Creek. Born in Albion, Sept. 15, 1896, he was the son of Roland and Clara Gates Green. He married Phoebe Purcell in Battle Creek in 1926. She died in 1960. Surviving are a brother, Walton, Janesville; a sister, Mrs. Doris Perry, Madison. Burial will be in Floral Lawn Memorial Park, Calhoun County, Mich.
