John Connelly & Wilmina Merritt's second daughter, Lillian Viola, married on February 4, 1913, John Christian Hankemeier, a farmer and son of Peter and Jane H. Hankemeier of Perry township, Jackson County, Iowa. Lillian and John had two children: a daughter, Myrtle Bernice, born September 27, 1913; and a son Clarence, born November 16, 1918. Myrtle married Walter C. Schreiber, a local farmer, and they had two children: a daughter Correne, and a son Albert. Correne and her husband Stan Cornelius live in Ohio. Albert is a truck driver. Myrtle's brother, Clarence, farmed near Delmar, Iowa. He has several children and grandchildren.

Funeral services were held , June 27, 1934 for Mrs. Lillian Merritt Hankemeier in the country home at 1:30 o'clock Monday and then in the United Presbyterian church at 2:00 o'clock. The Rev. E. H. Douring, paster of Salem Luthern Church, Officiated.
