Shelby Jean Rutherford Woods, age 77, of Bristol, Tenn., passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2015, peacefully at her home in the Denton Valley Community. She was preceded in death by her father, Hubert Kyle Rutherford; mother, Ossie Stewart Rutherford; brother, Hubert Kyle Rutherford Jr.; and daughter, Kathy Jean Woods. Shelby was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Woods was a member of South Chapel Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Arvle S. Woods; son, Kenneth W. Woods and wife, Trudy; grandson, Lucas D. Woods and wife, Michelle; great grandchildren, Lily and Noah; brother, Charles "Tater" Rutherford and wife, Pattie; brother, Johnny Rutherford and wife, Louise, several nieces and nephews; and cousin like a brother, Doud Rutherford. A funeral service will be held 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2015, in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Floyd Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. prior to the service. The burial will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 16, 2015, in Rhudy's Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Faron Stewart, Chester Stewart, Greg Rutherford, Jimmy Potter, Russ Hall and Guy Rush. Honorary pallbearers will be Doud Rutherford, Wayne Rutherford, and Danny Rutherford.
