Ward W. Rickey, 49, Is Heart Attack Victim

Ward W. Rickey, 49, a lifelong, resident of Butler township residing seven miles southeast of Garrett on Rt. 2. Auburn, died Monday at 2 p.m. in Sacred Heart hospital, Garrett.

Mr. Rickey, a bachelor, suffered a heart attack at his home but he was able to telephone a Garrett doctor. An ambualnce was summoned and he was taken to the hospital one and a half hours before he died.

Mr. Rickey was born Dec. 13, 1907. His mother was the late May Rickey but he was raised by his grandparents.

He was employed as a tool inspector at General Electric Co., Fort Wayne.

The only survivor is a half-brother, Oscar Busse of Elkhart.

The body was taken to the McKee funeral home in Garrett, where it will remain until it is taken at noon Thursday to the Cedar Chapel Methodist church, southeast in Garrett, to lie in state until final rites at 2 p.m. The Rev. Keith Davis, pastor of the church, will officiate and burial will follow in Cedar Chapel cemetery.
