[Larry dictated this obituary to Jim Seeger-Newby on February 1, 2014]

I was born on September 26, 1938, in Buffalo, Oklahoma. My father's name was Lee Garnett Wolf; my mother's name was Edna Lucille McNabb (Rose). My mother divorced my father around the early part of 1939. My mother and I lived with my grandparents McNabb in Gate, Oklahoma.

My mother worked in Rosa Lee's Cafe for 50 cents a day and a meal. My dad, Lee, went to World War II; he was a war hero. He received the Bronze Star and a Silver Star, war ribbons. He was in five major battles in Italy, France and Germany.

My mother met Joe Rose with a nickname of "Jack"; married him and I lacked 10 days being two years old. This was in Beaver County in Oklahoma. I had one sister, Kathy, born four years later in 1944; I had another sister, Tonda, born in 1949. Joe Rose raised me. I graduated from high school in Beaver, Oklahoma in 1956.

I went to work in the grocery store in 1949 in Beaver at 40 cents an hour. And worked up into management and went to work full-time in 1956. I married Carolyn Thomas in July 1957. To this marriage we had four boys: Mike, Joseph "Joe" Wayne, Chris and James. One son, Joe Wayne, deceased in 1959.

We divorced and then in 1962 I was drafted into the Army for two years. I was stationed in Europe as a supply clerk. I got out of the Army in 1964. Came to Wichita, Kansas and worked for IGA in a grocery store. I contacted Carolyn and we remarried for the second time.

Our fourth son, James, was born in 1971. Later we were divorced again. I married Debra Hurt who passed away over 20 years later. I had two step-children, Jeremy and Crystal.

I was in the grocery business approximately 33 years. I owned several liquor stores, two grocery stores and three night clubs. I've been in the car business; was a used car dealer 20 some years. Had a partnership in five Sonic drive ins.

James took over my car business in 2012.

Through the years I became a Freemason, attained the 32nd degree, and I joined the Noble Shriners Midian Temple in Wichita, Kansas. I was able to accomplish this in the space of one year. This is my 44th year.

Through the many phases of my life I would know many people...made many friends and acquaintances.

I enjoyed and loved my grandchildren and one great grandson.

In lieu of flowers, I would like donations made to the Midian Temple Plane of Mercy (Crippled Children's Hospital) or the Summit Church here in Wichita, Kansas.
