Evaline was the daughter of Henry Harrison Hukill, who was the son of Rachel Copeland and Judge Henry Brevard Hukill, Circuit Court Judge of Ripley Co., Indiana.

Evaline was 19 when she married Henry Mullan GRIFFITH. Over the next 20 years she bore Henry nine children, including a set of twins. Two babies died young. When Evaline died at 39, her youngest child was three years old.

Evaline's children:
Emma Jane, Carrie, Linnie Loretta, Anna, Harrison Ray, Alice Maud, Arthur J., Bernice, Bertram

Seven of Evaline's children survived to maturity. Of those seven, only two had children: Harry and Bernice. Through those two children, Evaline and Henry had six grandchildren: Harry, Eunice, Roy, Miles, Max, and Bruce.
