Mr. David Ronald "Ronnie" Ratliff, age 65, of North Wilkesboro, died Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at his home. He was born March 11, 1950 in Wilkes County to Howard Thurman Ratliff, Sr. and Nora Ruth Anderson Ratliff. He was a US Army Vietnam Veteran and a bronze star recipient. He was the Chaplain for International Seaman Center, serving sailors coming back from the ships. Mr. Ratliff loved playing music and singing. He was a member of Arbor Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Ratliff loved to fish, garden and flowers. Mr. Ratliff was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Daniel Ratliff; brother, Howard Thurman Ratliff, Jr.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley Pruitt Ratliff of the home; daughter, Heather Gambill of Hays; brother, Rev. Charles Ratliff and wife Brenda of North Wilkesboro; sister, Joann Reavis and husband Larry of Hays; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 o'clock Friday, July 17, 2015 at Miller Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Anderson officiating. Burial with military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Honor Guard Post 1142 will follow in Mountlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Miller Funeral Service from 12:00 until 2:00 o'clock on Friday, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675. Miller Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
