Mary Joanna Brinson, 6 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Brinson of Fort Meade (Florida) died in a Bartow hospital at 9:55 last night (April 9) of injuries sustained in an accident yesterday.
The child was playing with a group of children near her home about 5 p.m. She dashed into the road and was struck by a passing automobile, according to reports. She was brought to the hospital about 6 p.m.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 4:30 at the Church of God in Fort Meade, with the Rev. Cole officiating. Marsh Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
In addition to the parents, survivors are brothers, Russell, 9, and Burl, 3 months.
