Marie was raised in East Texas on a farm. She lived in Waxahachie, Texas for three years before moving to Dallas, Texas where she lived until her husband retired in the mid eighties and then they moved to Log Cabin, Texas. Marie worked several years for an ammunition plant in Fort Worth, Texas making bombs during World War II. She was a member of the Payne Springs Baptist Church. On March 31, 1942 Marie married Henry Ford Walker in Waxahachie.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henry on June 14, 1991. She was preceded by her sister Irene Isget Prestriedge in 2012.
