Gavin Ryce Roberts was born December 1, 1996 at Grants Pass, Oregon to parents Jackie Kristine Roberts & Tyler Blaine Davis. He died Friday, July 10, 2015 the result of an accidental drowning on the Columbia River at McCormick Slough near Irrigon, Oregon at the age of 18.
Gavin was raised in Boardman and had just graduated from Riverside Junior/Senior High School in June. He was an outstanding athlete competing in football, basketball, and baseball in which he was selected to play in the East/West State All Star baseball game, helping the East team to win for the first time in many years. He also enjoyed playing video games. Gavin was looking forward to joining the Army National Guard (was leaving for basic training on Tuesday) and attending Western Oregon University in the fall to study Criminal Justice to becoming a Police Officer - his goal in life.

He is survived by his parents, Jackie & Tyler of Boardman, OR; Sister, Jordyn Roberts-Davis of Boardman, OR; Grandparents, John & Kristine Roberts of Boardman, OR and Grandmother, Marjorie Shankle of Boardman, OR; numerous aunts, uncles & cousins and several extended family members and friends..

Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Riverview Cemetery in Boardman, Oregon. There will be a celebration of life pot luck at 4:00 P.M. at the Riverside Junior/Senior High School Auditorium. Private Family visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015 from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. and visitation for friends will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015 from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. and on Friday, July 17, 2015 from 11:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. at Burns Mortuary of Hermiston, 685 W. Hermiston Ave., Hermiston, OR 97838.
