Richard was born in Lynchburg, Tennessee on June 22nd, 1930 where he grew up loving to play baseball, hunt, fish and be a loving father. After serving two years in the Army, he then worked at NASA on Redstone Arsenal for over 30 years as a Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning Specialist. Richard retired and lived in Huntsville where he was an active square dancer and attended Southside Baptist Church. While living his final years at Redstone Village Assisted Living he attended Farley Church of Christ Services.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Vena Mae Solomon. Richard is survived by his two children, his son Barry Solomon from Union Grove, Alabama and daughter Terri McGhee, from Frisco, Texas, her husband Frank McGhee, and two grandchildren Alex and Brian McGhee. Richard is also survived by two sisters, Robbie Spencer and Christine Painter, and by his ex wife Kathalene Weaver Solomon Isbell.
The family of Richard Solomon wishes to thank the caring staff at both Crestwood Acute Care of the Elderly/Oncology Unit and Redstone Village Assisted Living in Huntsville who loved and cared for Richard until he went to be with his Lord.
