MARTHA JANE GOINS WILLIAMS was the daughter of Albert Goins (1815-Unknown), a "free colored person", and Dianah Dickerson Goins (1818-Unknown), a slave. As a result of her mother's slave status, she too was considered a slave, and was the property of a father/son duo named Isaac Garrison (abt. 1771-1860), and David Garrison (1797-1887) of Grayson County, Virginia. She married John Nelson Williams on Jan. 16, 1872 in Grayson County, Virginia. They produced two children together, but only one survived infancy. Their surviving child was named Joseph C. Williams, born abt. 1877, died June 1900. Martha Goins Williams was the grandmother of Leonard E. Williams (1901-1995), who is also buried in the Goins Cemetery. She was the great grandmother of Annie Mae Williams Walker (1928-1981) of Dublin, Virginia.
