Deborah A. Shaw, age 65, of Martinsburg, died Monday afternoon at The Village at Morrisons Cove following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Roaring Spring the daughter of Dorothy (Cunningham) Steele and the late William Steele. She married Wayne M. Shaw on October 4, 1969. She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Emily A. Kitt and husband Joseph of Roaring Spring; her mother, Dorothy Steele of Martinsburg; and 4 siblings, Larry Steele and wife Cherie of Martinsburg, Gail Blattenberger and husband Steve of Martinsburg, Doug Steele and wife Maggie of Williamsburg, and Kelly Steele and wife Stacy of Osterburg. Deborah was a life-long member of Clover Creek Church of the Brethren, where she was a Deacon and an active member of the Women’s Fellowship. She was a 1967 graduate of Central High School and had worked as a cosmetologist for 36 years. She was an avid quilter, enjoyed gardening, and especially loved spending time with her family. She was President of the Village at Morrisons Cove – Ladies Auxiliary and had also served on the Village at Morrisons Cove Board of Trustees. She spent “countless” hours volunteering at The Village at Morrisons Cove. At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing. A funeral service will be held at 11:30AM Friday in the Clover Creek Church of the Brethren by Pastor David Banaszak and Pastor Linda Banaszak. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Debbie’s memory may be given to The Village at Morrisons Cove – Ladies Auxiliary. Arrangements are by the Todd T. Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Roaring Spring.
