Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late William G. Brown and Leona Neipert Brown. Before her illness, she was the office manager for Dr. Raphael Kon, Tunkhannock. She attended Pilgrim Holiness Church.
Her greatest joy in life was watching her grandsons play ball and taking them fishing. She loved her many pets and was proud of her beautiful home.
Surviving are two sons, Richard Warpus, Plains; and William Shoemaker Jr. and fiancée, Lisa Ramey, at home; three daughters, Shelly Dunda, Dunmore; Nicole Warpus and fiancé, Sonny Murphy, Tunkhannock; and Courtney Shoemaker, at home; two grandchildren, Matthew Warpus and James Murphy; a sister, Sandra Nocera and husband, Joseph, Old Forge; two brothers, William "Bud" Brown and wife, Beverly, Ransom Twp; and James W. Brown Sr. and wife, Diana, Clarks Summit; several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank HCC Hospice, friends and family for their compassionate care, and Dr. Kon for his ongoing support during her illness.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home, 418 S. State St., Clarks Summit, with services by the Rev. Joel Byer, pastor of the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Tunkhannock. Interment will be in Milwaukee Cemetery.
