Ethel L. Ramey Ware, 91, passed away Wednesday morning, July 8, 2015 at Montgomery Hospice Casey House in Rockville, Md. She was born in Ridgeway, Va. on November 26, 1923 to the late Ethel Price Ramey and the late Randolph O. Ramey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald C. Ware; brothers, William, Lester, Cornell and Ozzie Ramey; nephew, Euron O. Ramey; and niece, Mary Ramey Gravely.
Surviving are her son, Alphonso L. Ware (Gwendolyn) of Winter Haven, Fla.; daughter; ,Joyce Blackmon (Vincent) of Silver Spring, Md; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren;sister-in-law, Doris Ramey; niece, Donna Moran, of Mitchellville, Md, Shanna Burges (Brian) of Martinsville, Va., and one cousin, of her generation,Elnora Hairston of Buffalo, N.Y., In addition to other cherished relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends one half hour prior to the service and other times at the home of her sister-in-law, Doris Ramey, at 3389 Soapstone Road, Ridgeway,Va.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the C.R.V. Hairston Memorial Chapel at Hairston FuneralHome, Martinsville, VA. Pastor Jane Johnson, officiating.
Interment will be in Carver Memorial Gardens, Martinsville, Va.
