Elisabeth R. Neff was the wife of the Rev. George Neff, D.D. (d. August 6, 1900). Dr. Neff was one of the oldest and most highly respected clergymen in Dutchess County, New York. The couple had two children John Rugan Neff and Susanna R. Neff Ackert. The Rev. and Mrs. Neff served St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Wurtemburg in Rhinebeck, New York from 1855 until 1876. During their 21 year tenure the church prospered.
