Son of the late Obediah Blythe and Hettie Victoria Marham Blythe, inaddition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn H. Blythe who died in 1995; two sisters and six brothers.
He was a lifelong resident of Henderson County, North Carolina with the exception of a 20 year Naval Career as a Chief Petty Officier from 1937-1957. He was a member of Fletcher First United Methodist Church. He had love of his family, the Navy, Ford vehicles and the Republican Party.
He is survived by his daughter, Malinda Maxwell and husband, Don, and one grandson, Scott.
Graveside service with Military Honors will be held at 3:00pm June 19, 2012 at Oakdale Cemetery, Hendersonville, Henderson County, North Carolina.
