Donald Edward “Duck” Abston, 42, a life-long Frankfort resident, passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, July 12, 2015.

He was born September 6, 1972, in Frankfort, to William E. Abston Jr. and Cathy J. Jackson Abston; his mother survives.

Donnie was a graduate of Frankfort Senior High School. He then served in the United States Army from 1990-2014, under Operation Iraqi Freedom. Donnie was a truck driver who loved NASCAR and working on cars. He was a giving, loving, and funny guy.

In addition to his mother, Donnie is survived by one son, Donald E. Abston Jr.; two daughters, Ashley D. Abston and Kacey L. Abston; three brothers, Eric E. Abston, Travis (wife, Tiffany) Abston Sr., and Billy R. Abston; and one grandson, Thaddeus O. Abston.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from 11:00 a.m. to the start of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Mark Mowery will officiate.

Burial will follow in Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort, with full military graveside honors.
