PORTLAND - Nicole "Nikki" Harris, 76, of Route 108 in Rumford, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 12, at Maine Medical Center in Portland, following complications from surgery, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Rumford on June 28, 1939, a daughter of Ernest A. and Eva B. (LaTendresse) Dupuis.

Nikki was educated in Rumford schools and was a graduate of Stephens High School, Class of 1958.

She married Michael Harris on June 20, 1959, and together they celebrated 55 years of Marriage.

Nikki owned and operated Studio One Ceramics, with her husband, Mike, for 33 years. She then went to work as a cook in the coffee shop at Rumford Hospital, and later in the housekeeping department. Following retirement from the hospital, she worked as a courier for Rumford Hospital.

She was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella. Nikki loved knitting, crocheting, cooking, and was well known for her meat pies, whoopie pies, crepes and doughnuts. She was a member of a local quilting club. Nikki loved her many trips to PEI to visit family. She also loved her many trips to McDonald's to socialize with her friends. Nikki also loved gardening and her cat, "Minew".

Surviving are her children, Michael D. Harris and wife, Debra, of Hartford, Maine, Philip Harris and wife, Madeline, of Navarre, Fla., Kimberly Page and husband, Larry of Crestview, Fla., Dawn Larsen of Farmington, and Hans E. Harris of Rumford; brothers, Jake Dupuis and wife, Joyce, of Rumford, and Andy Dupuis and wife, Jean, of Mexico; a sister, Lisette Bernard of Westbrook; a sister-in-law, Donna DeFilippo and husband, Rocky of Windham; grandchildren, Ryan Harris and wife, Michelle, P.J. Harris, Jenni McMillen and husband, Dan, Zak Carey and Kyle Harris; and great-grandchildren, Dominic, Serenity, Kaitlyn, Natalie and Samuel.

She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Mike, in April 2014; grandson, Tyler Larsen, and brother-in-law, Richard Bernard.

Harris - Nicole "Nikki", 76, of Rumford, passed away on July 12, in Portland, Visiting hours will be held from 6 to 8pm Thursday, July 16, at S.G. Thibault Funeral Home, with visitation by the Daughters of Isabella at 6:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Friday, July 17, at Parish of the Holy Savior. Interment will be in St.John Cemetery. If so desired, contributions in Nikki's memory may be made to the Oncology Unit, Rumford Hospital, 420 Franklin St., Rumford, ME 04276.
