Suggested edit: Mr. Anthony Scott Abbott, 42, of Snellville, Georgia, formerly of Adel, Georgia, passed away at his home February 20, 2015. He was born November 19, 1972 in Cook County to Lossie and Shirley Abbott. He lived much of his life in Cook County and in Gwinnett County for the past ten years. Mr. Abbott worked in refrigeration unit manufacturing for Hill Phoenix and was a lover of the outdoors and an avid fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Jan Abbott; step-son, James Bush; and step-daughter, Tricey Bush, all of Snellville; his parents, Lossie and Shirley Abbott of Adel; maternal grandmother, Betty Nolan of Adel; two brothers and a sister-in-law: Steven Abbott of Atlanta, and David and Susie Abbott of Stockton, Georgia; and a nephew and niece: Ashton and Ava Abbott of Stockton. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, J.C. and Orlando Abbott.

A memorial service for Mr. Abbott was held Friday, February 27, 2015 at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Leonard officiating. A private committal service took place at a later time at Woodlawn City Cemetery. The congregation sang "Does Jesus Care?" and "Farther Along." In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Mr. Abbott. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.boonefunerals.com.
