Arthur Nolan Birdwell was born in Austin, Travis County, Texas to James Arthur (Jim) and Esther Christine Birdwell. He was graduated from Austin High School in 1951, drafted into the US Army and served two years in the military police. While in the Army he met and married Rebecca (Becky) Moore of Llano after his discharge. He worked for several industries including Tracor, and then for the USPost Office, then for the electrical engineering department of University of Texas, retiring from there about 1996. They moved from their long time home on Neans Drive and built a house on the Llano River. In about 2002 they sold their house and bought a motorhome and traveled to Alaska and points east. In 2011 they moved to Clifton TX.
Their daughter, Holly and her husband Marty, moved from Jacksonville Florida to be with him after he contracted lung cancer.
Arthur's older brother, Joe Morris, passed away in March 2015. Arthur is survived by Becky his wife, his daughter and son in law, and a younger sister, Shirley Johnson, husband John, of Lockhart TX. His older half-brother, Jimmy, passed away in 1982.
Arthur's wishes were to be cremated and ashes buried at in Honey Creek Cemetery in Llano County, Texas.
