PROSPECT — Kathleen A. Rzewuski, 68, beloved wife of the late Edward Rzewuski, entered peaceful rest on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Waterbury Hospital. Born in Milford on July 20, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Patrick and Eileen (Dugan) Foley.

Mrs. Rzewuski was a manager for Waldenbooks in Ansonia for several years before taking an early retirement to Florida. In addition to enjoying peaceful days at the beach collecting sea glass to make fine jewelry, she loved taking award winning photographs, writing and publishing poetry, and painting intricate scenes on delicate eggs.

Survivors include her loving daughter, Denise "Cookie" Smith and her husband, Dave, of Prospect; stepdaughters, Sharon (Rzewuski) Pelkey of Watertown, and Donna (Rzewuski) Kruysman of Prospect; brother, Michael Foley and his wife, Deb, of Michigan; sisters, Patricia Bawlick and her husband, Greg, of South Carolina, Helen Savage and her husband, John, of Oxford, Susan O'Rourke and her husband, Brian, of Beacon Falls, Wendy Siraco and her husband, Bob, of Shelton, Terry Moffat and her husband, Ken, of Ansonia, and Maryanne Gallagher and her husband, Shawn, of Hamden; brother-in-law, Robert Rzewuski; two cherished grandchildren, Melissa "Sev" and Alexander "D" Smith; three stepgrandchildren, Mitchell, Evan and Austin; her ex-husband, John Baranek; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by an infant brother, Michael Earl Foley.

A memorial Mass celebrating her life will take place 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2015, directly at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Road (Route 67), Oxford. There will be no calling hours and interment will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718, or www.cancer.org.
