Mr. Charles David McVey, 63, of Mount Airy, died on Sunday, April 17 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Patricia Ann Norris McVey, who died in 1997.Born on Oct. 27, 1941 in Frederick, he was the son of the late William and Nora McVey. He was a carpenter. Mr. McVey was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Mount Airy. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed fishing.Surviving are two daughters, Roxanne Anita Gue and husband Roland Sr. of Mount Airy, and Paula Quillin and husband Bert of Westminster; four grandchildren, Wendy Poole, Shellie Myers, Brittany Jones and Danielle Jones; seven great-grandchildren; and four sisters. Mr. McVey was preceded in death by one brother.The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mount Airy, where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20 with his uncle, the Rev. J.C. McVey, officiating.Interment will in Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery, Mount Airy.
