Tobey Joseph Ashburn, 44, of Blue Mound, IL passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2015.
A service to celebrate Tobey’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2015 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Blue Mound. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tobey will be laid to rest in Old Stonington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to American Breast Cancer Foundation.
Tobey was born on July 14, 1970 in Decatur, IL, the son of Gary and Judy (Antoine) Ashburn. Tobey was a self-employed truck driver and farmed with his brother Jeff. He was a member of the Farm Bureau and enjoyed antique cars, especially his 1970 Chevy C10 truck “Ole Greeny” and his grandpa Tony’s Mercury Marquis. The love of Tobey’s life was his sons and his granddaughter.
Tobey is survived by his parents; sons: Logan (Slone) Ashburn of Moweaqua, IL and Max Ashburn of Blue Mound, IL; brother: Jeff (Cheryl) Ashburn of Taylorville, IL; granddaughter: Dalis Ashburn of Moweaqua, IL; nephews: Joel Ashburn of Taylorville, IL and Bryce Housh of Williamsville, IL; niece: Kalie “Sis” Catlin of Taylorville, IL; former wife: Karla (Catlin) Ashburn.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Mervil and Juanita Ashburn and Tony and Betty Antoine and his cousin: Samantha Antoine.
