Janette Savage Walker, of Baytown, was called to her eternal home on July 11, 2015. She was born to Johnnie and Sarah Savage on November 28, 1939 in Baytown.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Donald Alton Walker.

Janette is survived by her daughter, Terry Wright of Baytown and daughter, Andrea Brown and husband Kenneth of Clear Lake. “Gram” as her grandchildren so lovingly called Janette also survive her. Grandchildren are Leah and Kyle Hopper, Rachel Wright, Addison and Blair Brown, Avery and Will Taylor, Kayla and Collin Brown. Great-Grandchildren are Reese and Kylie Hopper, Cameron Brown, Isla Taylor and soon to make her arrival, Shailey Wright Allen. She is also survived by her siblings, Cynthia Huey and husband Fred, Janiece Ellisor and husband S. D, Johnnie Savage and wife Eileen, Nancy Smith and husband Larkin and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Janette graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1958. She married Donald in 1959 in Dayton and they settled in Highlands. She worked for Goose Creek CISD for several years as a librarian at Baytown Junior and as a secretary at Highlands Elementary, Ross S. Sterling High School and Gentry Junior High School. She spent her life serving her family and community. Janette was a long-time member of Highland’s Church of Christ. She was a founding member of the Highlands Pilot Club and Janette shared a love for the game of “42” with her family and a group of ladies who played once a month for over 50 years. She often went to share coffee with a group of friends from church on Sunday evenings. She never met a stranger and touched the lives of many. She had a talent for making things beautiful, especially in her yard.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, July 14, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at Crespo and Jirrels Funeral Home, 6123 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas. Services will be held Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Crespo and Jirrels.
