Paula J. Hill
February 16, 1939 - July 12, 2015

Paula J. Hill passed away on July 12th, 2015 at home surrounded by her loved ones. Paula was born to Norman and Catherine (Louney) Kellogg on February 16th, 1939 in Mansfield, Ohio. She moved to California when she was a little girl. When Paula was a teenager she loved roller skating and this is where she met the love of her life. Robert and Paula married on June 22nd, 1957 in Garden Grove, California. They later moved to Rapid City to start Black Hills Roofing Company with his brothers. They had two daughters and raised another daughter who came to live with them when she was 7 years old. Paula served in the Women's World Fellowship at the Open Bible Church and later joined the First United Methodist Church. She loved her Lord and served him daily. She loved being a Mom and Grandma. There were also other children dear to her heart, as well. She and her daughter served pizza parties to the children at Wellsprings Children's Home every month. All the kids there gave her the name "Pizza Grandma" and she absolutely loved it! Paula always prayed for the kids at Wellsprings and hoped for a better life for them. She loved the ocean and her trips to Seal Beach. When Paula became ill with cancer she remained courageous and was an inspiration to all. A special thanks to the staff at the Cancer Treatment Center for always being a part of Paula's weekly chemo parties. Paula is survived by her husband; two brothers; and her 3 daughters; six granddaughters; seven great grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation is from 5-7pm Thurs., July 16 at Kirk Funeral Home and one hour before services. Funeral services are at 11am Fri., July 17 at Kirk Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Black Hills National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Wellsprings Children's Home and to the American Cancer Society.
