He was the son of Cornelius M. Roberts (1749-1788) & Mary Ellen Benton (1750-1849). He married Abigail Bishop (1782-1840) on 10 Nov 1799 in Knox Co., Tennessee. They were the parents of approx. 16 children with at least nine (prob. more) living to adulthood. (Children listed on her Memorial) Nathan & Abigail Roberts are buried in Choctaw Co., Mississippi in an unknown location (poss. Grenada).
