Wayne Clinton Dykes, age 68, of Deltona, FL passed away Friday, March 7, 2008. Wayne was born December 4, 1939 in Jonesborough, TN. He served his country in the US Navy from 1956 to 1968. He was a member of the American Legion - Sanford Post 53. After moving to Florida in 1965 with his wife and children, he owned and operated Dykes Heating and Air Conditioning for over 25 years.

Wayne had a great thirst for knowledge and particularly loved studying the bible and religious history. He loved to fish, hunt and play golf. He always tried to help anyone who needed it. He literally would have given someone "the shirt off his back". He had a great sense of humor and even towards the end of his life, dispite being in great pain, he joked with his family to help them cope.

Wayne will be greatly missed by his family. He is survived by his mother, his wife, his children, 21 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

His son, Wayne Dykes predeceased him in 1994.
