Memorial services were Dec. 3 for Mary Edna Armstrong, 91, 1505 Hunter Lane, Clearwater, Fla., who died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 1986, in the emergency room at Clearwater Community Hospital of a cerebral hemorrhage. The memorial services were in the First Christian Church of Largo, Fla. Entombment will be in Naples, Fla. after the first of the year.
Armstrong was born near Letts, April 3, 1895, the daughter of Nathanial and Violetta Krom Tucker. She taught school in Sandcreek Township before her marriage July 31, 1919 to Forrest E. Armstrong, soon after he returned from France near the close of World War I. She worked in the Women's Right to Vote movement. They resided on the Jefferson Proving Grounds through the remainder of World War II and continued to live near Madison until they moved to Naples, Fla., in 1960.Her husband preceded her in death April 30, 1968. She moved to Clearwater, Fla., in 1971 to be near her daughter, Mrs. Hobart (Regina) Kunkel. She was a member of the DAR in Indiana, and a 50-year member of the Lois Chapter OES No. 147, Greensburg. She belonged to the First Christian Church in Largo, and the Dorcas Circle of that church.In addition to her daughter, she is survived by two sister-in-law in Decatur County and several nieces and nephews.
