Brian Christopher Lane was born April 28, 1982 in Knoxville, TN to James and Wondolyn Gilbert Lane. He departed this life on July 9, 2015. Brian confessed Christ as his personal savior and was baptized into the body of believers at the Mount Zion M.B. Church, Knoxville, TN. Shortly after relocating to Athens, AL, Brian united with the Sweet Home M.B. Church where he served as a member of the Chancellor Choir and usher board. He began his elementary education in the Knox County School System. He was a 2000 graduate of Athens High School, Athens, AL and was a member of the Athens High School Golden Eagle Marching Band as a trombone player. His professional career began with Verizon Wireless, Huntsville AL in 2008 as a Customer Service Representative. In December 2014, he was promoted to the position of Technical Expert. He was an avid lover of basketball, piano and all things electronic. He possessed a contagious smile and a very kind heart. Those who predeceased Brian were his paternal grandparents: Mr. Zeb and Mrs. Lottie Cheatom Lane and his maternal grandparents: Mr. James and Mrs. Wavie Crutcher Gilbert.
Funeral service for Mr. Brian Christopher Lane will be 12:00 noon Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at the New Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church (11479 Dogwood Flat Rd, Tanner, AL 35671) with Pastor Larry Lockett officiating. Interment will be in the Thatch Mann Cemetery. Mr. Lane will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral time. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at the Royal Funeral Home-Mason Chapel 718 Brownsferry Street, Athens, AL 35611. Public viewing will be 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2015, and 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at the Royal Funeral Home-Mason Chapel in Athens, AL.
