Funeral services were Sunday, Nov. 15 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wisner. Interment was in the Beemer Cemetery.

Viola Augusta Ella Toelle was born Dec. 6, 1919, on the family farm near Beemer to William and Louise (Kersten) Toelle. She was baptized Jan. 4, 1920, and was confirmed on March 25, 1934, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Beemer. She attended the Immanuel Lutheran Parochial School. Prior to marrying, she worked for area families.

On Oct. 22, 1955, she married Edward Brown at the St. Paul Lutheran Church Parsonage in West Point. The couple lived in both the Beemer and Wisner area until moving to Truman, Minn., in 1957. Four years later, the couple returned to the Wisner area.

Mrs. Brown raised poultry on the family farm and processed birds for whomever would ask her. She also babysat for neighborhood children.

Her husband died in 1988. One year later, Mrs. Brown moved into Wisner. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church and would assist with funeral dinners. She enjoyed gardening, and maintained a large garden that she continued to work on this fall. She loved to do embroidery and quilting and made several quilts for her family. Some of her other hobbies included putting together puzzles, playing cards with her card club members and spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Leona Haase, Hattie Haase, and Vernie Haase.

Kuzelka-Minnick Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
