ROANOKE — Mr. Joe Lon (Sonny) Goss, 72, of Roanoke died Monday, Nov. 28, 2005 at Randolph County Medical Center in Roanoke.

Funeral services are scheduled Saturday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. CST at Wehadkee Missionary Baptist Church in Roanoke with the Revs. Elijah Jackson and L.B. Houston officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Mr. Goss is survived by two daughters, Lisa (Willie) Henderson of LaGrange and Debra Goss of Welch; three sisters, Annie Will (Jessie) Clark of Louisville, Ky., Naomi Henderson of Roanoke and Emma Jean (Huey) Reed of Los Angeles, Calif.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Goss was born March 15, 1933 in Chambers County. He retired from the United States Army where he served honorably for 20 years, and for several years, he delighted himself in the services with Silmon/Seroyer Funeral Home in LaFayette. Mr. Goss was a member of Wehadkee Missionary Baptist Church in Roanoke.

The remains will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral services.
