ROBBIE DEAN PHILLIPS, 57, formerly of Rogue River, died June 22, 2015 after a two year battle with liver cancer. Robbie was born March 2, 1958 in Abilene, Texas to Nancy Jensen and Roger Phillips. He grew up and attended schools in Rogue River. He lettered in cross country in high school. He loved his family deeply, liked to draw, enjoyed bowling and reading. He loved to fix things and spent a good portion of his life as a mechanic. He was also a farm foreman of 1000 acres of orchards and fields in Corning, CA. Robbie is survived by his wife of 31 years, Susan Phillips; sons, John Wyatt Phillips of Rogue River, Kevin Phillips of Grants Pass and Aaron Phillps of Glendale; Grandchildren, Haley and Lexi Phillips of Medford, Kiera and Kohner Phillips of Rogue River and Karissa Phillips of Grants Pass; Uncle, George Weeks of Merlin; Mother, Nancy Jensen of Rogue River; Father, Roger Phillips of Visalia,CA; and Brother, Jim Phillips of Grants Pass. Robbie’s grandmother,Mildred Steinhardt preceded him in death. A private family ceremony and burial was performed at Woodville Cemetery. Robbie’s sons and brother built the cedar casket by hand. His son’s fiances made the lining. The whole family participated in the full burial process at the gravesite. A memorial will be held on Saturday, July 11 at 6:00pm at the Rogue River Civic Club, 135 Oak Street. For more information, pleasecall 541-415-8466.
